FAQ
Straight answers, including the things we don’t know yet.
Would the effort include events beyond baseball?
Possibly. A team plays about 60 home dates a year, and one idea on the table is to keep the ballpark busy the rest of the year with concerts, festivals, tournaments and private events. Nothing is decided; tell us on the join form if that interests you.
Is this an official effort by the City, the league or the former team?
No. GastoniaBaseball.com is an independent community effort. We’re not affiliated with the City of Gastonia, the Atlantic League, the Gastonia Ghost Peppers or any former ownership group.
Are you asking me to invest?
Not today. We’re gauging interest only. No money is being accepted, and anything you tell us is non-binding. If a real ownership opportunity is ever offered, it will come with full legal disclosures through a properly filed offering.
Why ask how much I might consider?
Because the first question any city or league will ask is “Is the community serious?” Non-binding ranges from real neighbors are how we answer that honestly. We never share individual answers publicly.
Would I make money?
Don’t count on it. Most community-owned teams exist to keep baseball in town, not to pay dividends. Think of it like owning a piece of a landmark.
What happens to the ballpark in the meantime?
CaroMont Health Park is owned by the City of Gastonia. The City and the Atlantic League have said they will look for a new team or operator. We want community ownership to be part of that conversation.
What if I’m not interested in owning a piece?
You’re still exactly who we need. Season-ticket holders, event-goers, sponsors, volunteers and fans are what make a team work. Choose “Just following along” and stay in the know.
Who’s behind this?
Local people who love Gastonia baseball and own this domain. As the effort grows, we’ll introduce everyone involved here on the site.
How do I stop the emails?
